Level of qualification: Master

 

Specific admission requirements: diploma for completed higher education with a Bachelor degree – Construction Engineer, or Bachelors – engineers in other Construction majors, with an average diploma grade not lower than Good.

 

Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning :
• Assoc. Prof. Savka Kazalarska (email: savkakazalarska@abv.bg) ECTS coordinator of the Department of Art, gives initial information and advice for the possibilities of credit acknowledgement and allocation from previous education – formal, informal, unofficial.
• Procedures:
- Academic transcript or diploma from previous education;
- International diplomas and certificates for computer skills, corresponding to ECDL (the European Computer Driving License).
• Credit allocation:
The Department of Art allocates credits which correspond to the syllabus of the major on the basis of the results of the knowledge and skills certification.
 

Qualification requirements and regulations: In order to obtain the respective qualification, students need to have a total of 61 credits, out of which 31 credits from compulsory subjects, 12 credits from elective subjects, 3 credits from optional subjects and 15 from thesis defense.

 

Profile of the programme: Based on students’ level of general knowledge, artistic culture and technical, artistic and creative skills acquired at the Bachelor’s degree level the course aims at training competitive specialists of clothing design.

 

Key learning outcomes
Postgraduates will obtain knowledge and skills in creative interpretation of nature, processing and work with textile, design of clothes for different seasons and costumes for the stage, stage design and situating of models on a fashion stage, fashion photography and computer graphics. Postgraduate students will be able to analyze season’s fashion tendencies, to organize and manage the process of fashion industries, to make entrepreneur, marketing, strategic and business planning.

 

Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates can have a successful career in the design of mass production and boutique fashion clothes, authors’ collections, work and uniform clothes, costumes for the stage, casual and official clothes.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading: Students sit for exams and tests and prepare course assignments. The final mark is calculated as follows: 20% course assignment, 50% project work.

 

Graduation requirements: Defence of a thesis which includes a portfolio and a fashion show.
