1991
Established as an independent, democratic educational institution

1995
On 21 July 1995 VFU was given the status of a higher educational institution with a decision of the 37th National Assembly, published in the State Gazette, issue 68

2001
On 12 April 2001 VFU became the first non-governmental university to be accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation at the Ministry Council

2001
VFU was awarded a Certificate of Compliance of the university's system of quality management and administration with the international standard ISO 9001:1994, with the certifying signs of ANSI-RAB (USA), RVA (Netherlands) and UKAS (UK).

 

2004
VFU was awarded a Certificate of Compliance of the university’s system of quality management and administration with the international standard ISO 9001:2000, with the certifying signs of ANSI-RAB (USA), RVA (Netherlands) and UKAS (UK).

2006
VFU was granted a second institutional accreditation with the highest grade - ‘Very good' for a period of 6 years which is the maximum period of accreditation according to the Law of Higher Education.

2007
VFU was awarded a Certificate of Compliance of the university’s system of quality management and administration with the international standard ISO 9001:2000, with the certifying signs of ANAB and UKAS.
