System for Quality Management at VFU ‘Chernorizets Hrabar’ in compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2000 On August 28th 2001 VFU ‘Chernorizets Hrabar’ was audited by the international certifying organization BVQI and was awarded a certificate for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:1994. It was also awarded certificates by UKAS (Great Britain), ANSI - RAB (the USA), DAR (Germany) and RvA (the Netherlands) for a period of 3 years.On January 7th 2004 the university was recertified by the same organization under the new international standard ISO 9001:2000 and was awarded certificated by UKAS (Great Britain), ANSI - RAB - NAP (the USA) and RvA (the Netherlands) for a period of 3 years. On May 14th 2007 the university was recertified for a second time under the international standard ISO 9001:2000 and was awarded certificates by UKAS (Great Britain) and ANAB (the USA) for a period of 3 years.
ISO is an international organization of standardization. More than 100 countries from all over the world are part of it. It develops different standards for quality management in a number of spheres in business life. The ISO standards were accepted by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and substitute the international standards with the generally accepted international ones. They facilitate the improvement of the communication and the development of international cooperation on a global scale. The sphere of certification of VFU under ISO 9001:2000 for the period 2007 – 2010 includes the following: • The university offers accredited higher education, post-graduate specialization and qualification, retraining and long life learning.
