Master’s Degree Programme: Preparation of Forces and Resources for Action in Unconventional Crises
Qualification awarded: Master in National Security Protection
Level of qualification: Master
Specific admission requirements:
Average grade from the Bachelor’s degree diploma - Good 4.00, entry test and an interview.

• Procedures: recognition of credits on the basis of a presented academic transcript or a diploma from prior learning; certification of knowledge and skills by passing examinations in specific for the professional area knowledge and skills at the Security and Safety Department;
• Awarding credits: The Security and Safety Department awards credits corresponding to the study programme of the major on the basis of the results of the certification of knowledge and skills.

Qualification requirements and regulations:
In order to be awarded the qualification, postgraduates need 60 credits (in 2-semester duration of study) or 90 credits (in 3-semester duration of study), 27 credits (57 credits respectively) are awarded from compulsory courses, 9 credits from elective courses, 3 credits from optional courses, 6 credits from a pre-graduation work placement tasks defence and 15 credits from Master’s thesis defence.

Profile of the programme:
The Master’s degree programme is designed to train specialists to manage state forces and resources, public organizations and economic enterprises for actions on the protection of the population, infrastructure, environment and property of natural and legal entities in the event of danger or the occurrence of unconventional character crisis.

Key learning outcomes:
Graduates from the Master’s degree programme acquire a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills which are necessary for the effective counteraction to adverse effects of unconventional crises such as: analysis and prognostication of risks of occurrence of unconventional crises; preparation and acceptance of managerial decisions to neutralize the risk factors generating unconventional crises; preparation of forces and resources of state bodies, public organizations and economic enterprises to effectively counteract the effects of unconventional crisis. They will be able to conduct operational management of forces and resources in conventional crises; to do team work with representatives of various departments, local authorities and local self-governance and civil formations on the prevention and neutralization of consequences of conventional crises.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples:
Graduates from the programme acquire the necessary qualification to successfully realize themselves in the structural units of the National Service for Civil Protection, the ‘Fire Safety and Rescue’ Directorate General of the Ministry of Interior, regional and municipal administration as well as for expert activities in companies, etc.
