ARCHITECT DESISLAVA HRISTOVA PRESENTED THE PROFESSION OF ARCHITECT TO STUDENTS AT ‘GEO MILEV’ SECONDARY SCHOOL.

The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” held a meeting with students from Geo Milev Secondary School – Varna, at the school’s invitation. Arch. Desislava Hristova, a lecturer at the Department delivered an open lesson to eleventh- and twelfth-grade students in order to introduce them more closely to the specifics of the architect’s profession and the opportunities for studying at the faculty.
During the meeting, the graduating students showed great interest in all specializations, even asking a question about doctoral studies. The school has a strong profile in advertising graphics, model-making, and graphic design, which contributed to an active dialogue. The students expressed a desire to visit Varna Free University, to explore its facilities and the state-of-the-art equipment in the 3D modeling and production laboratory.
Arch. Hristova, the author of the project for building the school’s STEM environment, presented the steps in the architectural design process, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to professional principles. She also spoke about the real-world tasks that students work on during their studies and invited the pupils to take part in a competition for the graphic design of one of the walls in their classrooms — part of the STEM project.
