Within five days, in the beginning of June, an intensive course entitled
Leaders of Authentic Folklore Ensembles was held at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The course is organised by the
Choreography department for the fifteenth consecutive year. Lovers of the Bulgarian folklore tradition from all over the country received basic knowledge in the field of musical and dance folklore, as well as skills in preparing folklore material for stage adaptation.
“The number of candidates for the course increases every year, which is a testament to the work of the teaching team of the
Choreography department. This year, participants from Sofia, Berkovitsa, Loznitsa, Stara Zagora, Radnevo, Velingrad, Sadovo, Kazanlak, the village of Topoli, Ruse, Pernik, Strazhitsa, Veliko Tarnovo, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian community in Spain and Cyprus participated,” Prof. Maria Kardzhieva, scientific supervisor of the course, said.

"With great satisfaction and gratitude to Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" - Varna, I experienced days filled with many emotions, new knowledge and valuable professional experience. I am grateful for the fruitful lectures, interesting discussions and rehearsals, which gave us the opportunity to exchange ideas and good practices.
The most valuable thing I will take with me, besides the acquired knowledge, are the wonderful people and good friends I met during the training. I thank the teachers and all colleagues for the shared emotions, support and unforgettable memories. I leave enriched, motivated and grateful for every shared minute. See you again, friends!"
