FOUR GOLD MEDALS FOR VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" AT THE NATIONAL STUDENT CHAMPIONSHIP

Varna Free University students Polina Galinova - 4th- year student of Psychology and Christian Yordanov - 1st-year student of National Security Protection won four gold medals at the National Kickboxing Championship, which was held in Stara Zagora. The students placed the university in the TOP 3 of the championship organised by the Association for University Sports "Akademik".
Polina Galinova performed in the category up to 60 kg in the regulations "Kick Light Contact" and "Light Contact" and won two gold medals. Christian Yordanov participated in the category up to 63 kg also in the regulations "Kick Light Contact" and "Light Contact" and also won first place.
The students of "Chernorizets Hrabar" VSU were led by Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Uzunov - in Personal Defence lecturer at the Faculty of Law.
11 student teams participated in the sport of "Kick Boxing" at the National Universiade 2023.
Polina Galinova is a two-time world champion in kickboxing for juniors and cadets. In December 2020, she became the Balkan vice-champion in the international kickboxing tournament "Balkan best fighters" in the Serbian city of Yagodina, and in March 2021 - she won her first national kickboxing championship. Last year, she won gold at the State Low Kick Kickboxing Championship up to 56 kilograms, which was held in Varna. Since 2016, she has been part of the Bulgarian national kickboxing team. She is a competitor and trainer in SC "Shumenska Krepost", and her trainer is her father - Galin Metodiev.
Christian Yordanov is the European junior kickboxing champion. He is a graduate of the "Georgi Benkovski" Sports School in Varna. His personal trainer is Krasimir Kirilov at the Boyle club. He is currently preparing to participate in professional matches under the leadership of the alumnus of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", Delyan Slavov.
