Graduates from the Autumn 2025 session will receive their diplomas on May 24, 2026

The official graduation ceremony for students who completed their studies in the Autumn 2025 session will take place on May 24th, 2026, in the Plenary Hall of Varna Municipality. The ceremony will be held on the Day of St. St. Cyril and Methodius - the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and of Slavic Literature - and will follow the traditional city procession (see the programme below).
The Class of 2025 is the 30th graduating class in the history of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. It graduates in the year the university marks the 35th anniversary of its establishment. Over this period, the university has built strong educational traditions, developed modern academic fields, and trained nearly 50,000 specialists who have gone on to successful careers in Bulgaria and internationally.
During the spring and autumn sessions of the Class of 2025, nearly 900 students from the university and its branch in Smolyan graduated. They were awarded Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in programmes offered by the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Computer Science, and the Smolyan branch.
At the official ceremony in Varna on May 24th, the academic management will present diplomas to nearly 300 graduates from the autumn session. Around 100 graduates will receive their diplomas at the Smolyan branch on June 13th, 2026 (Saturday), in the university’s Bulgaria Hall. The remaining graduates from the class received their diplomas in November last year, and many of them will take part in the alumni gathering to be held on May 23rd, 2026, in the university’s East Park.

8:30 – 10:00 a.m. – Signing the registration books, collection and gowning (academic robes) – foyer of Dimcho Debelyanov Secondary School, Varna (2 Ruse St.)
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Participation in the festive procession marking May 24th and the 35th anniversary of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” – university procession group
1:00 p.m. – Official graduation ceremony – Plenary Hall of the Municipality of Varna

Diplomas will be awarded only to graduates who have signed the registration books and provided a photograph.
