Dear students, employees and friends of Varna Free University,
The Day of the People's Enlighteners brings us together around the light of the spirit and the word - around that invisible but powerful force that builds free individuals and preserves the Bulgarian identity.
On this day, we remind ourselves that enlightenment is not just knowledge, but a mission, responsibility and faith in human potential. Being an Enlightener means inspiring meaning, bringing hope and leading others to truth and goodness.
Our university bears the name of Chernorizets Hrabar — the brave clergyman who defended the right to his writing, language and faith.
His words sound like an eternal testament:
"Learn and seek!"
They contain the code of our identity, freedom and pursuit of knowledge.
Let us be worthy heirs of Chernorizets Hrabar – brave in thought and vigilant in deed!
May the spirit of the awakeners continue to unite us and lead us to knowledge, kindness and meaning.
