Huge interest of students, lecturers and representatives of companies and institutions attracted the launch of the master class of the famous Russian historian and political scientist Prof. Alexey Gromiko, D.Sc.

With a lecture on "Moscow - Brussels - Ankara (Russia, the EU and Turkey in the Black Sea region)", on 21 November, the lecture course and master class on "International Relations and Security" by the famous Russian historian and political scientist, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Prof. Alexey Gromiko, D.Sc. was launched at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".



More than 80 are the participants in the forum which presents a wide range of topics related to Russia and NATO, the future of the European Union, European integration and European security in the context of the Russian-American relations. Among them are students and lecturers at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Sofia University "St Kliment Ohridski", Library Studies and Information Technologies University and the University of Milan, as well as representatives of the business and the public sector.




The official start of the event was given by the Deputy Rector for Research at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Prof. Pavel Pavlov, PhD.




A day earlier, upon his arrival in Varna, Prof. Gromiko was welcomed personally by the president of Varna Free University, Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. and met with the academic management and lecturers of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".




At the meeting, the new projects under which the university works were presented, the activities of the Institute for Europe at RAS, which is headed by Prof. Gromiko and the opportunities for developing joint partnership projects between the two institutions were discussed. Hot topics such as Russia's role in European security and the challenges facing the Black Sea region were also commented.




A public lecture by Prof. Alexey Gromiko on "The Political Transformation of the Euro-Atlantic Area" will be held in Aula Maxima on 23 November (Friday) at 13:30. Immediately before the lecture, the Russian scientist will be conferred the title "Honorary Professor of Varna Free University for his outstanding scientific achievements in the research of political systems, geopolitics, international relations and security and for a significant contribution to the development of fruitful cooperation between Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Institute for Europe at RAS.
