LECTURERS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ARTS JURED A FESTIVAL OF THE FOLK COSTUME IN RIBARITSA

The lecturers from the Department of Arts at Varna Free University - Assoc. Prof. Kapka Manasieva, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Katya Kairyakova, PhD and Assoc. Prof. Ivaylo Ivanov, PhD were the jury in the competition programme of the Festival of the Folk Custom and Authentic Costume, which gathered the guardians of the Bulgarian way of life and folklore in the village of Ribaritsa. The event took place in the historic area of ​​Kostina – the place of Georgi Benkovski’s death and brought together over 50 teams from all over the country. The festival was opened by the mayor of Teteven Municipality - Dr Madlena Boyadzhieva and the mayor of the village of Ribaritsa - Penka Ganeva.

During the days of the competition, the participants were evaluated by the competent jury composed of lecturers from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". Exquisite robes and folk costumes were shown on stage, songs were sung, people danced, various customs and rituals characteristic of different regions of our country were demonstrated. The Saturday evening ended with a concert by the folk singer Hristo Kosashki, who contributed to the festive mood of those present.
