OUR STUDENTS WHO REPRESENTED BULGARIA IN BRUSSELS WERE GUESTS ON THE SHOW "ZNANIE.BG" ON BNT 2

23 February 2023

The green deal and Bulgaria's position on it - this was the case that future European leaders had to solve during #ConSIMium - a simulation of the work of the Council of the European Union. 200 students from all EU member states participated in the simulation.
Gergana Atanasova - 3rd year student majoring in Law and Alessandro Tankis - 2nd year student majoring in International Business at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" were part of the Bulgarian team.
What decisions did they reach and is it easy to negotiate at such a level?
Our students, the graduates of the University of Economics - Varna Yoana Nikolova and Georgi Georgiev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuliana Mateeva - national coordinator of the Bulgarian student team, long-time lecturer in Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" talked about their participation in the forum in the studio.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuliana Mateeva, in her capacity as the national coordinator of the ConSIMium project, sent an appreciation letter to Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov - Rector of VFU "Chernorizec Hrabar":

To Prof. Dr. Peter Hristov
Rector of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar"

APPRECIATION LETTER
Dear Professor Hristov,
I hereby wish to express, in my capacity as the national coordinator of the Republic of Bulgaria in the pilot project of the European Union and the Council of the European Union ConSIMium, my gratitude to you for the support from Varna Free University "Cheronirizets Hrabar" to our students Gergana Yovcheva Atanasova, majoring in Law and Alexandro Alessandro Tankis, majoring in International Business in English who took part in the project.
I would like to share my excellent impressions from their participation in the simulations of the project, their profound theoretical training, the willingness to apply what they have learned in the practice and the demonstrated presence of mind when participating in a forum at a high European level. Last but not least, they demonstrated many positive personal qualities and skills for teamwork in a stressful situation, thanks to which the Bulgarian team completed their task brilliantly. In this way, not only the country, but also the educational institution they represented were presented fittingly. If it's true that the face of a university are its students, the face of Varna Free University is smiling and intelligent, professionally prepared, with a proudly raised head and a confident stride. Talking about my impressions, first of all I am describing all my personal perceptions, but also the feedback I received from the colleagues -coordinators, representatives of other member states.
We hope that the acquired new knowledge and skills will contribute to their future successful careers, which, after everything we have seen, we have no doubts about.

Yours sincerely:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuliana Mateeva
National coordinator for the ConSIMium project
