PROJECT OF VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY WITH SILVER PRIZE AT THE HERZEN FORUM "MY INITIATIVE IN EDUCATION" IN SAINT PETERSBURG

The project of the Student Council of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" entitled "Free Libraries – Book Houses" received the silver prize in the 14th edition of the Herzen Student Forum "My Initiative in Education", which started a few days ago at the The Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia in St Petersburg. Tomorrow, 22 May, the winning students of the forum are arriving at Varna Free University, where the forum is to continue and new educational initiatives will be presented.VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" took part in the competition for socially significant projects of the Herzen University with the project entitled "Book House" of the students Sali Svetoslavov, a 3rd–year student of National Security Protection and Aleksander Ivanov, majoring in Psychology.
The project was awarded in the category "Intergenerational Collaboration" and is part of the striving of the Student Council of the university to develop socially important projects. Eight book houses have already been placed in the largest schools in Varna.
The last free library will open on the eve of 24 May in the theatre building in the seaside capital.
More than 30 are the finalists who will be visiting VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" from tomorrow to 25 May. They are students of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, the National University of Science and Technology MISiS, the State University of Transport of Samara and the S. A. Esenin State University of Ryazan. The Bulgarian side will be represented by students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, the University of Economics, Paisii Hilendarski Plovdiv University and Episkop Konstantin Preslavski Shumen University.
For the third consecutive year, the Russian Centre of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" will host the Third International Youth Forum "My Initiative in Education". The forum is held under the auspices of the President of the VFU Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD and is supported by the management bodies of Varna Free University and the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Varna, the Representation of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Bulgaria and by the National Publishing House for Education and Science "Azbuki".
Tomorrow, the team of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Studies at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", headed by Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD will receive the prestigious Varna Award.
