Students from Varna Free University won a place in the final of the prestigious "Christian Takov" competition

A team from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" qualified for the final stage of the National Competition in Civil and Commercial Law "Christian Takov" - Sofia 2026. The success is the result of the intensive training of the students Alexander Dukov, Vanessa Dragneva, Dobromir Belchev and Elisaveta Nikolova in the civil law study group at the Faculty of Law, carried out under the scientific and practical guidance of the mentors Judge Ivan Stoynov (District Court - Varna) and Senior Asst. Prof. Dr. Neyko Dimitrov (judge at the District Court - Varna and lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the university).
20 teams from six law faculties in the country participated in the preliminary written stage, which was held on March 15th, 2026 at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. Based on the demonstrated legal knowledge and case-solving skills, the organizers selected 12 teams to participate in the final phase of the competition. Among the finalists is the team of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", consisting of 4th and 5th year students majoring in Law. In the final round, our boys and girls will compete with seven teams from Sofia University and one each from the UNWE, NBU, BFU and VTU.
The ranking is a continuation of the high achievements of the Faculty of Law in recent years. We recall that in 2024, a team from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" won first place at the National Competition in Administrative Law, organized by the Supreme Administrative Court. This success establishes the university as a key center for practical training of legal professionals.
The upcoming oral rounds of the national competition will take place on April 25th and 26th, 2026 at the Palace of Justice in Sofia.

On April 4th, 2026, on the eve of the Bulgarian Constitution Day, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will host the National Student Competition in Criminal Law. The organizers of the event are the Lawyer's Club "Prof. Tamara Hinova" at the Student Council and the Faculty of Law at the university. For the second consecutive year, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" organizes the event, which aims at strengthening academic traditions and create opportunities for professional development of future lawyers. 11 teams from six key universities in the country will participate in the competition.
