The Department of Arts Honored the Authors of the Façade Design Projects for the “Izgrev” Residential Care Centre

The students Nikolay Todorov, Katrina Stoyanova, and Mina Ganeva received certificates of recognition for their projects created as part of a charitable initiative to artistically transform the houses of the “Izgrev” Residential Care Centre. Nikolay’s and Katrina’s compositions have already been realized on the façades of two of the houses, while Mina’s project received the highest number of votes in the students’ selection.
Nikolay Todorov’s “A Look into the Future” and Katrina Stoyanova’s “Flight” were selected for realization following the charity exhibition “Design with a Mission, Colour with a Cause.” Both are students in the Graphic Design programme. Over the course of two weeks, students, lecturers, and volunteers transferred their compositions onto the façades, transforming the environment in which the children and young people at the centre live.
More than 40 students from the Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Fashion Design programmes took part in the competition. They developed their ideas as course projects for the subject “Painting – Part II” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Donika Kirova.
The initiative continues the longstanding partnership between the Student Council of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar,” the “Izgrev” Residential Care Centre, and the “Pregrudka” organization. Through charitable and volunteer initiatives, students support the children and young people at the centre and maintain the connection that has developed between them over the years. The façade painting project also gave students from the creative programmes an opportunity to contribute to this support through their ideas and work.
