THE ONLY ACCREDITED IN BULGARIA DISTANCE LEARNING IN INFORMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE IS AT VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR"

НАОАThe fourth consecutive programme accreditation for a period of five years was awarded to the professional area of Informatics and Computer Science of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency at the Council of Ministers. Varna Free University continues to be the only university in Bulgaria with a bachelor's degree in informatics and computer science accredited in distance learning. NEAA has also increased the number of students who can study in the specialties of the professional area.
For the first time, three of the master's programmes have been accredited in the distance mode of learning in the professional area - Digital Marketing and Web Design - in Bulgarian, Software Engineering and Management and Data Science - in English. The programmes are also offered in full-time and part-time modes of study. The master's programmes in Software Engineering and Management and Cybersecurity are also accredited in full-time and part-time modes of study.
NEAA also accredited the doctoral programme in Information Systems and Technologies, Informatics and Computer Science. Currently, two Bulgarian and five international doctoral students are studying in the programme. Two more Bulgarian doctoral students are about to enroll.
The specialties of computer science are among the most preferred by the candidate students at Varna Free University. In the current conditions, candidates from Bulgaria, the USA, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and others are interested in the distance form of education in the bachelor's programme in Informatics and Computer Science.
The admissions procedure of students for distance learning in the newly accredited specialties has already started.
The first class of bachelors in informatics and computer science in distance learning will graduate in a special virtual ceremony on 25 July 2020. The graduates found employment during their studies at the university.
