THREE STUDENTS OF VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY WERE HONORED WITH THE 2025 ANNUAL NAMED STUDENT AWARDS OF VARNA MUNICIPALITY

Three students of Varna Free University were honored with the Annual Named Student Awards of the Municipality of Varna for 2025.
The recognition comes as a result of their academic, creative, and athletic achievements, as well as their active role in the university community.
In the field of Law, the award was presented to Vanesa Dragneva, a fifth-year student. She is the captain of the Varna Free University team, who won second place in the National Student Competition in Criminal Law Sciences, and she is also the initiator and organizer of the activities of the Law Club “Prof. Tamara Hinova.”
In the area of Technical Sciences, the award went to Tsvetan Mitev, a sixth-year student in the Architecture programme. He won first place in a competition for interior space design at the N. Y. Vaptsarov Naval Academy, participated in the Digital Design Workshop at the 4th Varna Science Festival, and is the author of one of the student projects for “Industrial Park Shumen” JSC. His achievements reflect the strong connection between creative thinking, professionalism, and academic preparation.
In the field of Sports, the award was given to Martin Mihov, a fourth-year student of Business Administration and Management. The distinction recognizes his active participation in sports events, his personal discipline, and his contribution to promoting a strong sports culture among the university’s students.
A total of 22 students from the six higher education institutions in Varna were recognized this year for outstanding results in academic, scientific, creative, and sports activities.
The Annual Named Student Awards of the Municipality of Varna are presented for the nineteenth consecutive year. They honor students from Varna’s universities who have achieved first, second, or third place in student Olympiads, international or national competitions and contests, or who have distinguished themselves at scientific forums. The awarded students received a certificate and a monetary prize.
