TURKEY THANKED OUR KIND-HEARTED STUDENTS WHO SUPPORTED THE CAMPAIGN TO AID THE VICTIMS OF THE EARTHQUAKE

On my behalf and on behalf of my country, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the condolences and the expressed sincere sympathy and support", wrote Ms. Senem Güzel - Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Burgas in a letter to the Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov. "The thought that our friends are by our side in these difficult days, when we are experiencing a great national disaster, even a little, eases our pain. Our neighbouring country, Bulgaria was one of the countries that first came to help us. We are grateful to you for the solidarity shown," the Consul General also wrote.
On the initiative of students from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", the Student Council and the management of the university supported the campaign to collect material donations and money to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6. The management of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" contacted our partner universities in Turkey, to which they sent letters of condolence and expressed their desire to provide additional support and assistance in the event that it is possible and necessary.
In response, the Rector of Manisa Celal Bayar University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atac wrote:
"Thank you for your condolences on our loss. I appreciate that you share the moment with us and comfort us in these difficult days. I am truly touched by your words of sympathy and we thank you for the support and care. Your support in these difficult times is meaningful to us. It is extremely comforting to know that we are surrounded by caring partners like you and your kind-hearted students who initiated the campaign.
That sure means a lot! Thank you once again!
