Are the Municipal Councils in Bulgaria able to digitise their processing of documents? And how will the experience and accumulated knowledge of the students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" be of help to the state administration?

See the inspiring story of Galya Georgieva - a graduate of Informatics and Computer Science and head of Public Relations and Administrative Legal Department at the Municipal Council - Varna. A few days ago Galya Georgieva defended with excellence her diploma thesis on "Digitalization of the Processing of Documents of the Municipal Council - Varna".

The development offers technological solutions to optimise the work of the municipal administration in terms of processing of documents. This will, on the one hand, speed up the movement of documents in the administration and, on the other hand, will make it possible to build systems to accumulate and organise information in structured databases to be used to extract new knowledge. "Both systems and people need to talk to each other," Galya told the State Examination Commission.

For her diploma thesis defence she received a letter of support from the Chairperson of the Municipal Council Todor Balabanov. It says that more than 20,000 archive pages of documents generated by the Municipal Council are now in digital format and the archive is available to citizens online. "I believe that this was the first step in the right direction, so we continue to research and seek innovative solutions that will improve our work and interaction with citizens ... I express my support for developing the ideas set in the diploma thesis of the graduate Galya Georgieva ".
