OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

Centre for Positive Education

This is one of the University’s most innovative structures, focused on contemporary psychological and pedagogical methods of education and personal development. Established in 2024 in partnership with the Regional Department of Education – Varna and Varna Municipality, the Centre’s mission is to create an environment that promotes personal development, emotional intelligence, and academic success for every pupil and student. Through innovative educational programmes and methods, the Centre will foster a positive school culture that enables all participants in the educational process to reach their full potential.

“Varna Spaghetti Engineering” National and International Creative Skills Competition

This is one of the most sustainable best practices of VFU’s Faculty of Architecture and has become a traditional event for the University. The event not only demonstrates the talent of young engineers, but also provides opportunities to develop practical skills, explore innovative approaches, and foster creativity.

Annual Concert of the VFU Academic Dance Theatre

The Academic Dance Theatre at Varna Free University is a genuine cultural phenomenon — not only for the city of Varna, but on a national scale as well. It is not simply a student ensemble, but a professionally developed platform combining education, art, and the preservation of Bulgarian folklore in a modern and compelling way.
The annual concert is the culmination of the entire academic and creative year. It is not merely a traditional folklore concert, but a large-scale theatrical performance showcasing the development of student creativity. It features graduation projects, course projects, and original productions created by choreography students themselves under the guidance of their lecturers.

Circular Economy

VFU is a pioneer in Bulgaria in education and research in the field of circular economy. The University established the first master’s programme of its kind, “Circular Economy,” under the patronage of the European Commissioner responsible for innovation, research, culture, education and youth. The programme has attracted lecturers from leading European research institutes and has developed into a platform for knowledge exchange among businesses, academia, and local authorities in the Black Sea region.

International Legal and Forensic Forums

VFU’s Faculty of Law has a long-standing tradition of organizing international scientific and practical conferences and certified training courses. This positions VFU as a key centre of expertise on cybersecurity and contemporary law in the region.

Digitalization of Education (Digital University)

One of the University’s strongest best practices, highly recognized during the pandemic and post-pandemic years. Within just a few days, VFU implemented a fully cloud-based digital learning ecosystem, enabling international students to continue their education without interruption. Today, this practice is used for hybrid learning and joint online lectures with international professors, reducing logistical costs and expanding the scope of international cooperation.
