Duration of programme: 2 semesters for the graduates of the professional area of Fine Arts, holders of educational and qualification bachelor’s degree who have successfully passed an entrance exam (interview)

Field of study (ISCED-F): 0213 Fine arts, 0212 Fashion, interior and industrial design
Admission requirements: University Degree, average performance and passed State exam with not less than Good; interview.
Qualification requirements and regulations:
The graduation requirements are in line with state requirements and the practice of leading universities in Europe and the USA with similar missions and values to VSU "Chernorizets Hrabar."
Total number of credits: 60
Mandatory disciplines and credits in the specialty: 8 disciplines and 33 credits
Number of mandatory elective disciplines and credits in the specialty: 2 disciplines and 6 credits.
Conditions for admission and conduct of a state exam and/or defense of a thesis for the specialty: Successful completion of all obligations provided for in the curriculum and acquisition of at least 45 credits during the training and 15 credits from Master’s thesis/Diploma.
Profile of the programme: The master’s degree programme in Arts and Event Management is designed to meet the need for knowledge of art and design for the needs of the creative and cultural industries and the management of events related to them. The goal of the master's program "Arts and Event Management" is to address the specific needs of the rapidly developing creative and cultural industries and the demand for creators with new managerial knowledge in the field of visual arts and design. Event management plays a crucial role in the development of business and culture, and the arts are also a tool for implementing advertising and marketing campaigns.
The needs of increasingly demanding audiences, rapidly evolving technologies, and the economic potential of the creative industries require specific skills, knowledge, and thinking. The master's program is designed to meet these challenges. It aims to expand the professional competencies of graduates of bachelor's programs by focusing on the development of specific creative skills and design thinking in the creation and implementation of art events and various visual projects. The training will focus on acquainting with the brand and its philosophy, elaborating the concept of the event and its overall implementation.
The programme aims to:
- develop conceptual and visual thinking and to build creative, technical and business skills;
- to prepare highly qualified specialists with a wide range of knowledge and practical skills
The following tasks are set in the training:
- To provide an opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and skills in the fields of arts, design, management, technology, etc.
- To develop the abilities of students to professionally realize themselves in organizations in the field of culture, business, and the public sector.
- To be competitive and adaptable to the changing conditions for realization in the labor market.
Examination regulations and grading scale:
In the process of training in the master's program, emphasis is placed on the creative presentation of lecture material, the application of active practical methods – implementation of creative projects and tasks, individual or team development of presentations and course projects, realization in material of authorial products and services, and other forms of training and current control. Students are encouraged to develop authorial creative projects, participate in competitions and conferences at the university, in the country, and abroad.
Outside the classroom workload in the disciplines of the curriculum, priority is given to the professional direction "Fine Arts." It is directed towards research and creative tasks with an emphasis on the implementation of projects requiring in-depth research, analysis, and experiments. The regulations are specific to each course (project or task; individual or group assignments, research papers, tests, project assignment, defense, etc.).
Graduation requirements: Development and defense of a diploma project.
Key learning outcomes: As a result of the training, students acquire:
Specific knowledge related to art and event design, meeting the needs of the creative and cultural industries, and the management of events related to them. Students acquire knowledge in the field of trademarks and their philosophy.
The practical skills acquired by students are also oriented towards: identifying problems in design practice, creating an appropriate communication climate, teamwork, conflict resolution; skills for working in a digital environment. They develop and form skills for creative thinking for the development of event concepts and their overall implementation.
In accordance with the European Competence Framework and the National Qualification Framework, the training of students in this master's program stimulates the development of transferable competencies for: teamwork; selection of approach and technique for motivating other participants for effective work in various creative and business organizations; selection of appropriate techniques for communication with specialists and non-specialists in the exchange of creative ideas and information, problems, and solutions in the development and implementation of various policies and projects; working with specialized and universal software; analysis, and formulation of appropriate creative and business solutions related to current and strategic behavior.
In the context of fierce competition, progressive development and integration processes, the Masters of Arts and Event Management will have the knowledge and skills that provide them with a wide range of opportunities for professional development. The master’s degree programme in Arts and Events Management target: visual artists, design specialists, managers working in the creative industries who are interested in arts and arts management.
Obligatory or optional mobility windows: Students can participate in EU student mobility (Erasmus).

Examination regulations, assessment and grading:
Students are continuously assessed; they defend course assignments and projects and sit written examinations during their studies. Students are familiar with the evaluation criteria for each course. Final semester grade includes the results from the compulsory projects, assignments, case studies or other forms of individual and / or team work.
Internship: Students work on print and multimedia projects, which are presented publicly. Students have the opportunity to participate in specialized workshops, internal and international competitions, and seminars.
Apprenticeship programmes: When the discipline allows students can serve an apprenticeship or an expert from practice can be made part of the training along with the lecturer.
Professional profile of the graduates: The graduates of this master's program can have a successful career as:
- managers in the creative and cultural industries and the management of events related to them;
- event managers who want to be more effective and creative;
- working in the creative industries wishing to develop their professions;
- individuals wishing to set up their own event business.
