Specific admission requirements: to possess diploma of concluded secondary education and to submit admission tests in mathematics and drawing.

 

Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning :
• ECTS coordinator – Arch. Desislava Hristova, tel.: +359 52 359 579, e-mail: arch@vfu.bg – gives information on possibilities for recognition of previous education – formal and informal
• Procedure: credit recognition of transcript of records from local and foreign universities (if from a foreign university transcript should be legalized and translated into Bulgarian language), diplomas of foreign language skills, certificates and diplomas for computer skills.

 

Qualification requirements and regulations: 438 credits, of which 15 are acquired by a successfully defended diploma work.

 

Profile of the programme: Training objectives:
- To provide an opportunity to acquire basic knowledge in the form of compulsory elective and optional subjects studied within the eleventh semesters of study;
- Application of acquired knowledge in their summer internships;
- To prepare highly qualified specialists with a broad general education, in-depth special theoretical knowledge and practical oriented specialization.

 

Key learning outcomes
In today's dynamic development and integration processes, graduates of Architecture will possess and demonstrate knowledge and skills that give them various opportunities:
- They will be competent to work in the field of regional studies and urban planning, in the design and realization of residential, public, industrial and other buildings, in the interior and design of the architectural environment;
- They will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge making a professional career in the central and local state administrations;
- They will have the necessary competency to work for design and construction companies, construction inspection, scientific and educational institutions, in the field of preservation of the architectural heritage.

 

Occupational profiles of graduates
In today's dynamic development and integration processes the graduates of Architecture have a variety of opportunities. They can work in the field of regional studies and urban planning, in the design and realization of residential, public, industrial and other buildings, in the interior and design of the architectural environment. Good opportunities for professional career is the work for the cental and local state administrations, design and construction companies, construction inspection, scientific and educational institutions.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading: assessment is according to ECTS and their Bulgarian equivalents. Assessment is formed on the basis of the following criteria: completeness of demonstrated knowledge, quality of documentation of assignments and projects, exhaustive study of specific problems of the subject, structure and layout of projects.

 

Graduation requirements: The course ends with Defense of Diploma Work (DDW). To DDW and SE are allowed those students, successfully passed all examinations of the entire course of study and successfully defended their semester and pre-diploma projects.
