- Specific for the professional field knowledge and skills at the Department "Computer Science and Economics."

Qualification requirements and regulations
The duration for training for:
- Graduates of educational qualification "bachelor" in another professional area other than "Computing and Computer Science" is three semesters plus adjustment semester for full-time, part-time and distance learning - 105 credits
- Graduates of educational qualification "bachelor" in professional area "Computing and Computer Science" is 2 semesters for full-time, distance and part-time training - 60 credits. 
Part-time learning takes place in workload least 50% of that of a regular basis.. 

 

Profile of the programme
The courses in the curriculum in the proposed master's program cover a wide range of issues, including security management, cybercrime and protection testing. The focus of MP "Cyber security" is to prepare specialists for successful career in the field of information security. In developing the program was consulted and respective training will be done in cooperation with Bulgarian and international companies operating in the field of IT security: ESI (European Software Institute) - European Software Institute, Center Eastern Europe; ORACLE - Bulgaria; Sirma Group.

 

Programme learning outcomes:
The Master program "Cyber security" provides to graduates basic theoretical knowledge in the current security information, also the required practical skills for solving the same. After completion of the Program, the Master students will be able to join the international network of security information specialists.

*In Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", one credit equals 30 hours of student workload, which includes 10 contact hours (lectures and seminars) and 20 hours of independent work.

 

Mode of study: full-time, part-time

 

Examination regulations and grading scale:
For each course is held semester examination. In the process of training course tasks and project assignments will be prepared. The precise evaluation criteria will be pointed in the learning programs. The scoring system of evaluation the process of teaching and conducting semester examination and the final grade is the usually used system. The students are in advance acquainted with the specific criteria and methodology for assessing the respective discipline.

 

Graduation requirements: Development and defense of a diploma project.

 

Obligatory or optional mobility windows: Students can participate in Erasmus student mobility.

 

Work-placement: Internships and practices are held IT companies - partners of the program.

 

Work-based learning: 
Students in the Master's program will have the opportunity during their education to participate in a number of initiatives with Bulgarian and foreign companies to support their achievement through new contacts, provocations, competitions, as well as master classes organized by the Department. Additionally, will be given respective opportunity to acquire professional certifications in the field.

 

Occupational profiles of the graduates 
Master's program "Cybersecurity" provides graduates basic theoretical knowledge in current issues of information security, as well practical skills to solve same. After completion of the Program, the Master students will be able to join the international network of specialists in information security. They will be implemented in the public and private sector as employees in information security, IT managers, analysts, planners, experts, consultants and others with in-depth analytical knowledge and skills in the field of security systems in information and communication technologies, e- business, e-governance, knowledge management and many more.

 

Access to further studies: 
Graduates students in the Master's program “Cybersecurity" will obtain an solid skills for scientific research and can continue in graduate programs or other specializations in the same or in other professional fields, and also PhD programs as well to pursue teaching.
