The President of Varna Free University Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. was awarded the St Cyril and St Methodius medal

At a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall in 2 Dondukov St, the President Rumen Radev presented outstanding educators, scientists and practitioners with state awards for education, science and military-medical expertise.  

 

 

 

For merits in the field of education and science Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc, President of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was awarded the St Cyril and St Methodius medal, first grade.

 

 

The proposal was initiated by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", among whose founder is Prof. Nedyalkova. Under her direct leadership is certified the quality management system of VFU according to the international standards ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 9001: 2015, the European Credit Transfer System has been successfully implemented and the University is awarded by the European Commission with HR Excellence in Research Logo - a logo that certifies the application of the principles enshrined in the Charter of European Scientists and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. She became the first Bulgarian rector elected to be a member of the Rectors' Club in Oxford in 2006.

 

 

Prof. Nedyalkova is a person with proven qualities. She is an authoritative scholar and lecturer, a successful manager, a visionary of modern Bulgarian education and a person with an active civic position and social commitment, these are some of the motives pointed out by the Initiative Committee. 

 

 

"Today's awards are an act of appreciation of the debt that Bulgaria has as a state and our whole society to the people who have dedicated their lives to the progress of this society. Although your scientific activities are in a variety of fields, and this is your unwavering spirit, faith and self-denial that you are advancing the Bulgarian science," said the head of state in his speech at the ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall in 2 Dondukov St.

 

 

 

 

The head of state has emphasized that there is one more thing that connects the award-winning educators, scientists and the military-medical practitioner, and that is their attitude towards the education of young people in Bulgaria and the professional development of the young scientists. "I dare say that what you leave to your followers is no less important and valuable than your own achievements, and that is why they have these high awards," added Rumen Radev.

 

 

Prof. Todor Todorov, Prof. Yanko Borisov - posthumously, Prof. Vladko Panayotov, Academician Ivan Yuhnovski and Prof. Krum Katsarov are also among the awarded.
