The National Final of the International University Contest of Konica Minolta International University Contest (IUC) was held on March 29 at the headquarters of the company in Bulgaria. Last year’s winner - Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", the International Business School and the American University in Bulgaria took part in the contest.

This is the second edition of IUC, which started in 2016. The company aims at supporting the efforts of universities to digitize the processes. The participants in the contest had the task to analyze a recent documentary or information workflow at their university and recommend an innovative solution or improvement.

The team of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" included Petko Linkov, Miriam Amedia, Dmitriy Stepanov and Konstantin Kossev. They came second and were followed by the American University team.

The Campuscard students' project of VFU Campuscard offers an opportunity to increase the efficiency of the already existing ISIC card by turning it into a means of access and payment of all services at the university.

The team of the International Business School won the contest this year with the idea "Doctrina", which offers an online solution to improve the overall process of introducing and processing key administrative documents such as applications, complaints, applications, warnings, etc. The project aims at facilitating disadvantaged students being at the same time environment-friendly.

The projects were evaluated by a jury consisting of Dr. Alexander Hristov (Associate Professor at University of National and World Economy), Darina Stoyanova (Executive Director of Prestige-96 AD), Martina Gramatikova (Sales Manager at Konica Minolta Bulgaria) and Virginia Georgieva (Marketing Manager at Konica Minolta Bulgaria).

"We are glad that for the second consecutive year we succeed in encouraging innovation in universities and provoking students to be active in improving the documentary and information processes at their universities. We received three projects completely different from each other, each of which was impressively developed and thoroughly researched. The most important thing for any good idea is to be realized, so I wish them not to give up and to take the necessary next steps in the realization of their projects!”, commented the Marketing Manager of Konica Minolta Bulgaria - Virginia Georgieva.
