VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY OPENS A PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING HOTLINE FOR STUDENTS, PROFESSORS AND FRIENDS

Since today - April 1, a hotline for psychological counseling of students, professors and friends of the University has been opened on the website of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" - www.vfu.bg.
A team of 20 volunteers from the Master's degree programmes in Psychological Counseling, Psychology and Psychopathology of Development, Applied Psychology, as well as from the postgraduate programmes, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Ivanov, PhD, M.D. - Head of the Department of Psychology at Varna Free University, will consult anyone who needs help with experiencing isolation or has difficulty adjusting to the civil emergency.
The volunteers, who are psychologists from Varna Free University, will consult conditions characteristic of isolation - increased anxiety, difficulties in adaptation to social isolation, changes in interpersonal communication in the new environment. They will provide psychological support for keeping hope.

"The teams of volunteers are highly qualified; they are ready to handle the psychosomatic manifestations of anxiety and fear. Most of them have their own consulting rooms and practices. For many of them the master's and postgraduate programmes build on their knowledge and experience” commented Assoc. Prof. Ivanov.
In case there is someone on the Psychological Counseling Hotline that requires specialized counseling, they will be referred to the Centers for Medical Psychological Assistance.
The opening of the Hotline is driven by the desire to preserve the health of the academic family of Varna Free University and to support the community in which we live and work.
