VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" SIGNED COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE CHAMBER OF ARCHITECTS IN BURGAS

VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" initiated a meeting with the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria (CAB), with the participation of Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov - Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Rositsa Petkova-Slipets - Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Zhechka Ilieva - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Plamen Petrov - Scientific Secretary of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism, Arch. Vladimir Milkov, Chairperson of the Management Board of CAB, Prof. Arch. Borislav Borisov – Vice-Chairperson of the Management Board of CAB in the field of "Standards", Arch. Kostadin Hristov - Chairman of the Council of CAB, Arch. Sabin Popov - Chairman of CAB - Burgas, Arch. Miroslav Boychev - member of the Council of CAB - Regional Branch Burgas and Arch. Marin Velchev - Chairperson of CAB – Regional Branch Varna, members of the operational management of CAB and the regional bodies in Varna and Burgas.
During the meeting, Arch. Svetoslav Stanislavov presented to Arch. Desislava Dimitrova - a graduate from the Faculty of Architecture at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", a diploma for "Demonstrated high architectural and aesthetic qualities and graphic culture", a cash prize and three-month internship in his architectural studio STARH for developed and excellently defended diploma project on the topic "Center for Digital Innovations".
A cooperation agreement was signed with CAB - Regional Branch Burgas. Arch. Sabin Popov expressed his readiness for a fruitful partnership and many joint initiatives. The Faculty of Architecture received an invitation to take part in the Architecture Week organized for the first time by CAB - Regional Branch Burgas, which will be held in Burgas in the autumn of 2021.
There was a discussion about the training in the specialty "Architecture" as the main focus were the standards introducing regulation in the specialty, as well as expanding the scope of practical training. Everyone agreed that the time has come to update the Ordinance on the unified state requirements for acquiring higher education in the specialty "Architecture" for the educational qualification degree "Master" with a professional qualification "Architect", in order to allow more flexibility in the curricula and to respond to the new priorities set in the Strategy for Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2021 -2030. As a result, CAB undertook to organize a meeting with all higher education institutions in Bulgaria doing training in the specialty from the regulated professions "Architecture", where a discussion and debate about the changes in the Ordinance will be brought.
Issues related to regional planning, the Territorial Management Act and the Regional Development Act were also addressed. In this regard, on June 26, 2021 at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" a round table - a seminar on "Improvement of regulations for spatial and regional planning" will be organized. Representatives of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and representatives of CAB - Management Board and Operational management, representatives of the Regional Bodies of Varna and Burgas and representatives of the Research Fund will meet.
In April this year, a cooperation agreement between VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", CAB - Regional Branch Varna and The Chamber of Engineers in the Investment Design - Regional Branch Varna was signed.
