
Four students from Varna Free University will take part in the first edition of the photography festival “In Focus”, which will be held in Varna from September 3rd–6th, 2025. The event brings together nine Bulgarian and international documentary photographers, photojournalists, journalists, visual artists, and 35 young photographers, united under the festival’s theme “Inside – Outside View.” The festival programme includes presentations of photographic projects by guest authors, a roundtable and discussion panels open to the public, as well as three photo exhibitions that visually interpret and expand on the festival’s theme.

Two trainee lawyers chose the Varna District Court to complete their mandatory six-month legal internship in August. Bilyana Abrasheva and Hristina Ruseva are graduates in Law from Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Prof. D. Sc. Yonko Kunchev and Assoc. Prof. Stefko Burdzhiev - Head of the Department of Public Order and Security at the Faculty of Law at the university held a meeting with 140 police officers at the Center for Specialized Police Training in Varna.

Ilyaz Ilyaz, a third-year student majoring in Architecture at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", returned from his Erasmus semester, which he spent at one of the most prestigious technical universities in Europe - Politecnico di Milano, which this year is in the TOP100 of universities in Europe.

Future lawyers, students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", will undergo their practical training with mentors – judges.Within 240 astronomical hours, students will solve legal cases, attend open court sessions, and have the opportunity to observe the assignment of cases.

The Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. D. Sc. Yonko Kunchev, held a working meeting with the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Varna, Senior Commissioner Krasen Torimatsov, and Deputy Director, Senior Commissioner Daniel Pashov.

Stefan Parov is a graduate of Varna Free University. He graduated with distinction from Crime Prevention and Public Order Protection and Law at the Faculty of Law. Today, he is a lawyer in the Plovdiv Bar Association and a defender in cases of public interest, many of which often make headlines.

On the threshold of its 35th anniversary, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has received its fifth consecutive institutional accreditation for the maximum 6-year period with a score of 9.01 out of 10 under the new criteria system of the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (NEAA).

The guests were welcomed by the President of the University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov, the Vice President Yani Yanev, the Rector Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov and the Deputy Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova.
